Create a New Personal Balance Paradigm

Editor’s Journey 2011: Return to Balance

Step 4: Create a New Personal Balance Paradigm

Divine feminine energy flows silently, hidden below the surface. Where does it come from? It comes from nothing — the infinite source of all potential. How do you access this hidden power? By living life awake, always questioning and observing.

Since the early 1900s, three streams of divine feminine energy have been slowly returning to change the world’s mindset: compassion versus domination, nurturing versus betrayal and strength versus corruption. In 2011, a fourth divine feminine energy is emerging: balance versus power. This final energy completes the four pillars of the divine feminine way: compassion, nurturing, strength and balance. Join us on the editor’s journey to create this new way of living.

Returning to balance takes six simple steps: 1) Open to the balanced heart. 2) Affirm your commitment to peace. 3) Remember the inner warrior. 4) Create a new personal balance paradigm. 5) Practice the way of compassion, and 6) Celebrate the reunion of the masculine and feminine.

A paradigm represents the box holding society’s thinking, the social norms that are accepted and practiced by the majority. There are accepted norms and beliefs about spirituality, which many people separate from religion. Spirituality has evolved over the last century, moving away from strict organized religion to an acceptance of an inner connection to the spiritual realm.

Since spirituality encompasses the world of the personal, the inner landscape of the individual, this new divine feminine energy moves you toward creating your own personal balance paradigm. What gives you the right to create your own creed? Nothing. And from nothing, you can create everything.

What does a balance paradigm look like? Coming from nothing, it takes on the form of your unique spiritual heart. The heart has a shape, a function — a way of supporting and giving energy to your body and your life. Your balance paradigm is your unique energy signature expressed through your physical body and daily choices.

In ballet, a balance step is performed by lightly shifting the weight from foot to foot, knees flexed and ready to adjust position. Imagine yourself swaying, rocking from side to side. You make small adjustments to keep your balance, to stay in check and keep your footing. But you are never still, never stuck with your feet on the ground.

This is how your balance paradigm works. You are attuned to your inner stabilization methods, your inner guidance that constantly readjusts for life’s circumstances to lead you back to equilibrium, back to a point of dynamic balance. Shifting, moving, ever nimble, you are ready to take on life’s challenges without holding onto the past. This moment, this new reality, is your power, your stabilizing force. Nothing leads you, nothing guides you, and you respond with nimble grace to every experience.

A paradigm suggests structure. Your new balance paradigm is a series of four questions to ask yourself during tough experiences: What is happening in this moment? Why do I care? What is my role in creating change? Am I willing to change?

Simply, the new balance paradigm is about observing, feeling, empowering and growing. By observing the truth of the situation, you can feel what this experience means to you. Then you empower yourself by choosing what role to take on. Now you move forward, ready to change and grow.

Let’s say that you’ve been diagnosed with cancer. What is happening in this moment? My body is in peril and needs help. Why do I care? I love this body and I want to do what’s best for my health and for my family. What is my role in creating change? I hold the role of healer for my body. Am I willing to change? Yes, I am willing to face this scary illness and discover what the experience holds for me.

You are awake, ready to create everything from the power of nothing.
