Celebrating the Feminine
by Tamara Adams
Celebrating the feminine is so near to my heart that I take it for granted and forget that it’s certainly not a traditional way of approaching religion or spirituality.
As a working artist, I live a very unconventional life, and over the last 10 years have made connections with thousands of women through art and the divine feminine. Enough to know that I am not alone in feeling that there are important spiritual elements missing in our dominant patriarchal society.
I have such a hard time drawing within the lines, and sadly, have even more trouble following systems of belief that restrict personal freedom, growth and creativity. At times this has caused great difficulty in my life. Out of my own need for autonomy and creative expression, I am hopelessly drawn to a softer, more nurturing and open-minded view of spirituality. This is also part of why I continue to create images that embrace the feminine.
