Transforming Awareness

What happens when two inspired spiritual leaders — who are also great friends — share the stage? On Sept. 10, Robert Thurman and Michael Bernard Beckwith share an evening of lively and spontaneous conversation, spanning topics from the global to the personal.
Beckwith is the author of Spiritual Liberation, and founder of both the Agape International Spiritual Center and the Agape University of Transformational Studies and Leadership. Thurman is the author of Why the Dalai Lama Matters and the cofounder of Tibet House U.S. He is credited with being at the forefront of making Tibetan spirituality, philosophy and art accessible and understandable in the West.
Held at Portland’s Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and sponsored by Beyond Words Publishing and The Center for Spiritual Development, Beckwith and Thurman explore the current chaos in the world and potential lessons we may learn. This event also will be filmed for a new documentary set for release in October.
