Relieving Stress with Hypnosis
by Sunil Varma
When something unpleasant happens, it puts us in a state of strain called stress. We’ve all experienced it: excessive work pressure, unemployment, illness in the family and financial expectations.
Stress is your body’s method of responding to any type of demand. Stress can be caused by both positive and negative experiences, such as positive stress about a wedding to negative stress about how you’ll pay for the wedding. When you feel stressed, your body reacts by releasing chemicals into the blood. These chemicals increase your strength and energy, which can be a great thing if the stress is caused by a physical danger. But if the stress is a response to emotional stimuli, there’s no physical situation to provide an outlet for the additional energy and strength.
Unrelenting and negative emotional stress can lead to addictive habits that allow you to “alleviate” stress through smoking, alcohol and drugs. Feelings of helplessness, anger and depression, and overeating can happen when the stress response becomes too intense.
Through a hypnosis stress management program, you can develop new ways to release this emotional stress and create positive responses. You can effectively change the way your subconscious mind experiences stress. Hypnosis helps to reprogram your subconscious mind and how you perceive stress. Old responses that allowed stress to change your personality can be effectively removed and replaced with positive natural stress responders.
When you try to go around the obstacles that show up in your life, you lose your power and focus and end up getting what you don't want. Why live a life of compromise when you can get what you want?
