I Am an Instrument of Service

Editor’s Reminder: Say Your Affirmations
I am an instrument of service.
Often people wonder what their purpose is on Earth. What if we all shared a common goal to be of service to others, no matter how big or small? Holding open doors, offering rides, listening with a caring ear and giving encouragement are all simple acts, and yet they are vital when shared with people we care about.
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,” Saint Francis prayed as he tended to the less fortunate. We are blessed to be able to care for others using the power of spirit to guide us. In September and October, listen to your inner heart and follow that small voice to be of service to others.
Affirmation
I know you through spirit.
As spirit shines through my heart, I shine the light for you.
As spirit teaches me about love, I share my lessons with you.
As spirit holds me close, I embrace you.
As spirit whispers in my ear, I laugh with you.
As spirit uses my hands, I reach out to you.
Let spirit work through me.
Let spirit touch the world through me.
Let spirit live through me.
Meditational Prayer
Visualize a pink light flowing from the heavens into the crown of your head. See this light of love pool in your heart, filling you with the desire to serve yourself and others as you say the following prayer: Dear God, let your will for me be known. Use me as your creation. When a kind word needs to be spoken, use my voice. When a load needs to be lifted, use my back. When a hug needs to be given, use my arms. When a journey needs to be taken, use my feet. When a message needs to be delivered, use my mind. When a friend needs to be loved, use my heart. In all things, in all ways, use me God, as your instrument of love, faith, peace and tranquility.
