Grow Your Dreams with Promise Plants

by Carol Holaday

Just about everyone enjoys the beauty and calming energy of plants.

As long as we have been on the planet, we have had a relationship with plants, primarily for food, but also for cooking herbs, healing remedies and for use in magical practice. In past centuries, village shamans and healers cultivated plants for magic and healing by planting their seeds according to the movement of the stars, and watering different species of plants with water blessed under specific phases of the moon. As they watered and pruned their plants, they spent time blessing them and speaking to them about the work for which they were intended. By the time they were finally harvested, they were supercharged with health, vitality and potency.

Making Your Own Promise Plant

You will need:

  • A large container of clean water
  • A decorative pot
  • 1 large tumbled or rough stone big enough to write on
  • 8 tiny crystal points
  • Paint pen or indelible marker
  • Seeds or a seedling that is best for your home environment
  • Potting soil

  1. Fill your water container then sit with it for a few moments and imagine your love and blessings flowing into it.
  2. On the inside of your pot, write or draw symbols or images signifying whatever it is you wish to manifest. For example, if you will be growing a prosperity promise plant, you might draw runes and planetary symbols that have to do with prosperity and financial success. You might even use a green marker pen to take advantage of the color green. Allow paint pen and markers to dry well.
  3. Take your stone and draw an image or symbol representing your intention. You may wish to write your name in celestial script on the other side or draw your zodiac symbol. When the paint is dry, place the stone over the hole in the pot and place the small crystal points around it in a circle with the points facing toward the center.
  4. If you are planting seeds, fill the pot with soil and make a small hole in the soil to the prescribed depth for that particular seed. Place the seed into the hole and cover it. If you are transplanting a seedling, add a few inches of soil to the bottom of the pot and place the seedling into the pot so that the top of the root ball is about one inch below the top edge of the pot. Carefully fill in soil around the sides and top and press down gently. Add more to fill if necessary.
  5. Gently water the plant/seed with your blessed water. Keep any leftover water aside for future use. Make sure to bless any new water that you draw.

Make a commitment to spend time with your promise plants regularly, talking to them and sending them blessings while visualizing everything you wish to grow in your life, such as money, happiness or a better job. Imagine your intentions coming to fruition as your plants grow and flower. Prune away dead leaves and spent flowers, pick off marauding invaders and add small amounts of organic fertilizer to the soil as needed.

Soon you will be enjoying the fruits of your efforts as you experience the vibrant energy of your promise plants and the positive interaction you have with them. Every time you spend time maintaining your indoor garden, you will be reminded that you are bringing your intentions into reality.

An indoor or porch garden full of promise plants is a lovely way to enjoy the magical energy of plants while you draw positive and wonderful things into your life. And as they grow to maturity, especially if you have chosen to grow some herbs, you can harvest them for your personal use in teas, remedies and magical activities.

In a world where many now live in high rise apartments, town houses and condos, finding ways to have a magical garden, or any garden for that matter, can be challenging. However, creating a magical garden doesn’t have to be difficult if you choose plants that will grow well indoors on a windowsill or kitchen counter or outdoors on a small porch or balcony. Regardless of how little space we have, we can still give our plants the attention they need to grow and flourish and bless us with their magic. What better way to cultivate our dreams than to pair them with healthy growing plants?

Growing promise plants is an excellent way to have a number of goals, such as increased income, success in career, meeting the perfect mate or companion and more, all growing together at the same time. Plus, it is good feng shui to have healthy living things growing in your home. With a little effort you can cultivate an indoor garden full of promise plants and imbue them with your intention for many purposes. The more you spend time with and talk to your promise plants, the more you expand the energy of your creations.
