March/April 2009 This I Believe
Angels Are Near Us

by Linda F. Torres

As a child, I always thought that the angels had magical powers. I would see myself flying with them in my dreams, visiting far away lands filled with castles of beautiful colors. I believed that angels hovered around the city, helping the birds fly up to the sky.

It's amazing how as children can imagine those things and believe so easily with no judgment at all, and when we are adults, we question the how or where or when, forgetting our childlike ways of accepting and believing.

I believe that transitions are sometimes necessary for the unfolding of a superior outcome. To enter a new and better place, the old has to depart. There are occasions when we are ready to begin something new in life, but there are other times that we are not prepared to process change and feel despair. As painful as change is, it is much easier and comforting to reach out to the angels. Angels are divine emissaries who encourage us, and surround us with the feeling of peace and knowingness that all is well.

As human beings who possess free will, we have the power to ask the angels for what we want. We can also have angels ask God what we need to learn, and provide us with guidance to accept the new with love, hope and understanding.

We can ask through words, thoughts, feelings or writing a note to the angels. Just focus your intention on the highest good, without any expectations, knowing that whatever it is, your request will be granted.
