The Northwest's Psychic Children

by Vicky Thompson

Everyone is born with intuitive abilities, but some young people embrace these qualities early, such as Preston Swanson, an energetic 16-year-old who leads his own angel circles in Ashland and 17-year-old Brian Scibetta of Lake Oswego, Ore., who discovered that he can hear God's answers. New Connexion spoke with these two bright and engaging teenagers about their spiritual journeys.

Joyful Manifestation: Preston Swanson

Q. When did you first know that you had psychic abilities?

A. I was around nine when I first found out. That's when my mom first brought me to all these awesome spiritual gatherings and it opened my mind more. And I found as my mom got more open in her mind, I became more open. It allowed more possibilities, and I discovered I was connected to the higher realms and the angels. I consider myself a crystal teenager.

Q. What is a crystal child?

A. There are three types of children (and they can be adults, too). The first ones are the indigo children, who are breaking down old belief patterns, and no longer using typical emotions, structures and beliefs that just don't work. So the first type of child is in the front, chopping down all the vines in the jungle while they are treading through. The indigos are strong minded, they know what they want and they know how to get it.

Then there are the crystal children, who I see behind the indigo machete guy, holding the crystal and shining its light and love all around, healing the cuts. I think the crystal children want to share their ideas and help inspire people.

The three types of children are all love, but the indigos are more like the warriors while the crystals are more like the healers. The last type are the star children. They are planting seeds for the next generation - planting ideas into the people. They are the second generation crystals, but they are going to be the new frontier of the next generation.

Q. You've had booths at spiritual fairs and you also lead a weekly angel circle.

A. I'm taking a break now, but we did meditation, manifestation and celebration. I put on some nice 1970s disco and started dancing around in a circle and we would just get the energy flowing. You want people to be vibrating as high as they possibly can when manifesting.

I also did imagination creation coaching. I had this technique where I pretended that I was a friend of [the client]. They would do the manifestation activity with me by phone and I would call them back and they would tell me all the things that happened. This is the technique where you act like you already have it. And then in a matter of weeks, they actually do call back and they are amazed that the manifestation happened.

Q. Do you have a message for the world?

A. It is time to really be you. Your full you, no holding back. Be the divine you that you came here to be and do what you love. Give time to yourself and do your mission. And have a blast because life is supposed to be fun.

Ask God: Brian Scibetta

Q. When did you discover that you were spiritually connected?

A. I was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (ADD) when I was seven in the second grade and it was really difficult. My mom tried to find a better way to work with the ADD diagnosis, but we decided that there wasn't much we really could do, so she had to put me on Ritalin. Having gone through the experience, I can really help other children understand what is going on around them and that they may actually not have ADD, which is what we later found out. The diagnosis was that I was having trouble focusing. When I look back, I can see that I wasn't really distracted by whatever would be in the classroom, but it was my spiritual and intuitive side receiving messages from my angels or maybe some negative energy that was distracting me in the room. It wasn't so much physical distraction, but rather my spiritual senses were being turned on.

So I was on the Ritalin for five years until one day I decided that it was not working for me. I felt absolutely horrible when I was on it - very much like a zombie. But on the weekends when I didn't have to take my medicine, I would be back to myself. My mom would say that on the weekends I was very funny and sharp, but every weekday I would have horrible headaches because the medicine would just drain me.

So in seventh grade I decided I wasn't going to take the Ritalin anymore. I wanted to see if there was something else we could do. So I went searching and there was this guy on the radio at the time named Gary Spivey. He was a world-renowned psychic, and we listened to him almost everyday on the drive to school. [He came to Portland to do a seminar and my mom attended.] She came home that night, and taught me and my brother how to meditate. Through meditation, we started developing these spiritual gifts. They weren't necessarily developing, but they were reappearing. So after taking the Ritalin and getting of it that, meditation was my means for getting focused for school.

Q. You launched the website Project: Ask God in September 2007 and have received approximately 600 questions. Are you seeing a trend in questions for God?

A. With the economic problems we have right now, people are really worried about their finances. They're worried about whether our country is going to remain stable and if there will be terrorist attacks. There is nervous energy. I am seeing more of a trend of people who want to know how to connect with God and how to better their lives.

Q. What does God want for humanity right now?

A. I think that there has been this large shift in consciousness. I feel that God is looking for us to take our fears and put them out on the table and see what we have to fear. I think connection is and will be the most important thing for us to do. Great things can come from meditation and seeking God, your angel energy and your healing light, but it is just a matter of doing it.
