The Moses Code: Spiritualizing the Law of Attraction

by Vicky Thompson

It's time to spiritualize the spiritual law of attraction, according to James Twyman, author and co-producer of the book and film The Moses Code. The new film on DVD features manifestation wisdom from well-known spiritual authors, including Cheryl Richardson, Iyanla Vanzant, Sonia Choquette, Gregg Braden, Neale Donald Walsch, James Van Praagh and Debbie Ford.

The Moses Code opens in a home or church near you on April 5. Find a location or sign up to host a special screening of the film at www.themosescode.com. Watch the film on April 5, and then put what you've learned into action on April 6 by taking part in a worldwide prayer vigil to extend prayers of peace to the Middle East.

New Connexion spoke with Twyman about the soul's desire to manifest by giving instead of receiving.

Q. How did the Moses Code begin?

A. In the last few years there has been enormous excitement about using the law of attraction to manifest what we believe we need in our lives. Obviously The Secret had a lot to do with that. I think it was positive that so many millions of people were turned on by that.

Yet as I traveled around the world and spoke with others, including many authors, many people feel that as important as it was to get that message out, if it stays where it was left in The Secret, we're in really deep trouble. Because so much of the focus of that film was what I call ego driven manifestation - looking outside to find the things that we want to make us happy and using spiritual laws, like the law of attraction, to accomplish that.

It was [author] Debbie Ford who first came to me and said that we really need to make another movie that focuses not on manifestation from the level of ego, but from what we call soul manifestation. The difference being that the ego is constantly striving to get while the soul is constantly striving to give. And it's through that giving through service that positive manifestation happens naturally. The more we find ourselves being used as instruments of peace is how the law of manifestation can heal the world and humanity.

Q. How does the Moses Code work?

A. I began to research the story of Moses and realized that there was a very powerful gift that God gave humanity through Moses that has been locked away for more than 3,500 years. Yet this gift, or what I call the Moses Code, is actually the most powerful manifestation tool in the history of the world. When Moses was at the burning bush, he essentially asked, "When I try to accomplish what seems impossible, who am I going to say sent me? What's your name?" And God said something that seems a little unusual. God told Moses to tell people, "I AM THAT I AM."

Moses used the power of that name when he went in front of the Pharaoh. All of the miracles that occurred ultimately led to the release of the Israelites. But unfortunately, it was believed at that time that the power of the name was so profound that the Israelites locked it away and made it blasphemous to say that name. So for 3,500 years that has been the strict orthodox position - you can't even say the name. And in doing so, it has muted the power of this gift given to us.

Hopefully we have the maturity to use the code and wield this power maturely and responsibly. As we focus on the law of attraction manifestation, if we can apply this code, I believe it will give us a quantum leap in being able to manifest a world that is aligned with our soul's longing rather than our ego's yearnings.
