Are You an Angel in a Body?
An Interview with Carol May

by Connie Hill

Carol May realized early that her gift of seeing and communicating with angels was special. She tells her story and communicates messages from her angelic team in her book Working with Angels in Everyday Life.

Q. What can you tell me about angels?

A. One of the most astounding experiences happened when I was about five. I went to a funeral of a man who was about 40 years old. I was sitting there and I saw his soul beside the casket with three extraordinary angels beside him, radiating light. I was just a little kid, but I remember thinking "What an interesting thing to see a person turn into an angel." I talked to my parents about it and found that nobody else saw those things, except me. So I have actually been able to talk to, see be aware of, and be empathic with angels since I was a little kid.

Archangel Michael began to talk to me when I was in my 30's. He agreed to assist me anytime I was going to help people talk to their souls. That's what I have done for a living, though I've had a lot of other jobs as well. But for 25 years I've done what I call soul attunement - helping people find out more about their own true spirit and self. I never work without Archangel Michael on the right and Raphael on the left.

Q. Why did you decide to write the book?

A. I wrote the book because the beings said people need to know. They are trying to normalize angels. This is not an angel book, it is about love and the relationships that can happen between the seen and the unseen. The angels have told me that they want people to feel that they are not so alone.

The angels wanted to include what they look like, what they feel like and how to contact them. They also talk about trust and faith, which is what it's really about - holding an intention to receive help, giving attention to what it feels like and then giving gratitude for the help, even if you don't know exactly what happened. It's taking the mental energy out of angels and helping people feel them.

Q. I liked the reminder that not all issues can be healed.

A. A lot of people like to hold God, Jesus or various angels responsible for what happens to them. They want miracles. I know miracles happen all of the time, but some experiences belong to people. One chapter talks about pain and homelessness. Lots of things are not seen by spirit as the horrible things we see them as. There's no judgment about it. It's just an experience that helps you learn and grow. There are a lot of little messages like that in the book.

I have to tell you about the 80/20 rule and how the angels help us in times of tragedy. What inspired that chapter was personal. My 25-year-old niece lost her two young children and husband in a drowning accident. Since it was my family I could not help them, they don't understand my work. The angels asked me to sit down and write. It was amazing, cathartic, energetic and incredible and showed me what you can learn from tragedy. We need to remind people that the more you learn and grow, the more it uncovers the ability to learn and grow. You just end up being more responsive and more responsible. That's the relationship between the dimensions.

Q. Tell me about your workshop.

A. One of the magical things that happens is that when people ask questions, the most interesting information comes forward from the angels. Students can look forward to meeting their guardian angel, finding out that angel's name and what messages coming from them might feel like. You meet the team who are helping you. You'll get to know the team of messengers or friends from God, sent to help you learn and live and grow.
