Tensions all over the Earth change during its elongated orbit around the sun. Spring is a time when the Earth is pulled toward the center of the galaxy, as if trying to escape from the influence of the sun, which symbolically represents the human ego.

Spring is a time of rebirth and focusing on the larger picture. In June, we are closest to the great central sun of our Milky Way galaxy, which is a symbol for our soul.

Pluto is thought by some astrologers to be a messenger from outside of our solar system. Throughout this year, it is pausing at this galactic gateway, calling us to look at the similarities of spiritual belief. Recognize ego additions to all beliefs, which have created separation and competition about the idea of God.

During this time, think about how you can move beyond your own little picture of the world. Focus on what needs to be learned by all and how you can contribute to making the situations work for every living creature.

Personal Sun and Ascendant Messages

Aries (March 21 - April 20) Those born early in the month may experience situations that are teaching them to look for the bigger picture before acting. As explorers, all Aries will be called upon to lead others toward this broader viewpoint.

Taurus (April 21 - May 20) Taurus can express their energy in such a diverse way! These months will make it clear whether you are capable of working together with others as part of a balanced team of oxen to lead the world. The other side of Taurus is ruled by their own ego and personal infant needs, the two-year-old throwing a temper tantrum to get what they want without thinking of the affect on others. This can be negative Venus and yin energy at its worst.

Gemini (May 21 - June 21) The Gemini twins have been cited in mythology throughout history as the dark and light. This represents the pull of those born at this time of year between looking toward the sun and personal pictures or looking toward the galactic center and being free of the trap of the words and values of others.

Cancer (June 22 - July 22) After the summer solstice, the Earth once again begins its journey moving closer to the sun. The Gemini desire to run away is bridled and humans are tempted to stay true to the values of the parents to ensure they are loved and given material rewards. Seek to clarify your own values to avoid getting pulled off track during July and the rest of the year.

Leo (July 23 - August 22) Leo is said to be ruled by the Sun due to acceptance of ego needs in themselves and others. Leo is symbolic of the school-age life stage with its battle of wills or egos, and who will be king of the hill. Decide what is most important to you and how to make the situations in your life work for all.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22) This is a time of challenge and potential healing if you look at where you developed the attitudes and values that are running your life. Use your power of discrimination and pull free of any shoulds in your life that are illogical and hurting, rather than helpful to yourself and others.

Libra (September 23 - October 23) This time can best be described as a period for observation and new understanding as you see those about you struggling between two sides of their nature. Born at the half-way point between ego and spirit, you struggle with this issue all the time. Notice what spirit is saying to you personally, its voice will be louder at this time.

Scorpio (October 24 - November 22) This is a time of both new opportunities and adjustment. You may be re-creating yourself and moving to a new developmental step of your physical and soul growth. The Scorpio who has mastered the art of balance of spiritual and physical worlds is the Shaman.

Sagittarius (November 23 - December 21) When you were born the sun blocked the view of the galactic gateway. This is symbolic of a life challenge to overcome personal ego and achieve true spiritual awareness. This is why so many Sagittarians become involved in religions. Use this time of proximity to the symbol for spirit and connect with your own. Be willing to put aside human-made dogma and just experience soul energy.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 20) Like Scorpio, this is a time of opportunity for you, but will require putting aside fears that things need to happen in a certain time frame and in a certain manner. Be open to listening to the words of others while being consciously aware of all your emotional reactions to the words.

Aquarius (January 21 - February 18) These two months can be a great period of opportunity for you if you can stay focused on where you are being called to go, rather than what you're trying to leave behind or avoid. That dichotomy can be a lifelong challenge, holding you back from achieving goals. This is a good time to change the pattern.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20) Situations in your life may be calling you to wake up. Connecting with spirit is not about retreat, but taking your visions and bringing them into a physical form. Like Aquarius you need to stay focused on where you are being called to go. But rather than to the past, Pisces tends to go within and get stuck there.
