A Dreaming Meditation

"I feel that my painting is entirely about states of mind," says Robin Urton, whose Magical is on the cover of New Connexion. "It unveils the inner workings of my own mind, so the content is often personal. Through a free-association of images, I attempt to explore the connecting relationship between internal and external forces. References to personal dreams, the natural world and art history often exist simultaneously."

Urton's technique of painting on layers of plexiglass started 10 years ago. Her creative evolution began with painting on canvas, then to painting on panels and eventually led to the desire to break into layers of space.

"My hope is that the dimensional aspect of my art will invite viewers to become more interactive with the works," she says. "The paintings become a window into imaginative realms."
