For the Love of Bumblebees

Tom Giffin

Tom Giffin has enjoyed art in one form or another for most of his life. He spent a good deal of his childhood submerged in the vastness of the natural world. Without the pressures of an adult life, it made it easy to get lost with the bees and other growing things. Giffin has managed to hold onto this and bring it to the work he creates today. His paintings have a dream-like quality much like the childhood he remembers. Some of his paintings are as simple as a flower with a butterfly and others are more complex with deeper spiritual feeling and meaning.

What excites Giffin most about creating art is the knowing that every brush stroke has the potential for something amazing. This is also the manner in which he chooses to live his life. Giffin hopes that his work can bring inspiration to the ones that view it so they can take that and turn it into something for themselves.

Giffin lives amongst the trees on beautiful Whidbey Island where he can still be caught from time to time staring at those big wonderful bumblebees. Visit www.tomgiffin.com.
