Rediscovering the Divine Feminine in the Sacred Masculine

by Tomas Heartfield

We have come to the place in our evolution where both men and women are moving beyond the straitjacket of our cultural programming around sexuality and traditional masculine and feminine roles. Men in particular are longing to escape this conditioning.

After many years in the men's movement and 10 years leading relationship-based workshops with my life partner Joan, I felt drawn toward working with men again.

I deeply appreciate what the men's movement gave me. In later years I realized it was the women in my life, Joan and our housemate Caroline Muir (co-author of Tantra: The Art of Conscious Loving), who allowed me to move into my masculinity.

They had been helping thousands of women into ecstatic aliveness through their Divine Feminine Institute. The deeper into this exploration of their sacred feminine they went, the more they exuded a soft glowing energy and a confident embodiment.

What were they doing? In spending time with them, I discovered the secret: It was the ease with which they were experiencing the sexual energy in their bodies that made them so attractive. Enlightened feminine essence stimulated this transformation in me, nurturing and healing the masculine, while demanding it not lose its masculine nature by becoming feminine.

There are certain things men need to know and experience to free this powerful part of themselves. The macho facade that is so prevalent in our culture simply disappears when the first and second chakras are cleared. When men feel safe and secure within themselves (root chakra) and can feel their natural sacred appreciation of their sexuality (second chakra), they can easily communicate feelings and needs with others (fifth chakra).

What was the missing piece in all the men's movement work of my past?

Having an enlightened woman guide men back to their divine feminine healing energy. In my workshops, my co-presenter is Saida Desilets, author of The Emergence of the Sensual Woman and one of Taoist master Mantak Chia's top instructors. Saida offers the Taoist perspective about male sexuality in a way that men understand.

Taoist practices provide practical information, such as the proper care of the male reproductive system. Lack of understanding of male anatomy feeds the epidemic of prostate problems that 80 percent of men must contend with along with other sexual problems. Yet, a simple manipulation applied routinely can prevent and even reverse such problems.

Through Taoist practices and an awareness of the divine feminine, men are gifted with an experience of themselves that connects the dots not only to what they are capable of experiencing, but also how to use their sexual drive to receive the energy they need to give and manifest from a place of overflowing passion and joy.

When a man connects to his purpose from this place, his consciousness is much more grounded into who he is rather than who he thinks he is. What he attracts into his life comes easier because of his relationship with the field of energy around him. He realizes energetically there is nothing to get, so it flows to him naturally.
