A Shaman's Message of Hope

Whole villages are swept out of existence by earthquakes and tsunamis as the Earth sets records for fire, floods and other violent natural disasters. The consequences of global warming are trumpeted by environmentalists as the heat rises. Prophesies about an imminent pole shift emerges from native cultures. At the present rate, the Amazon rain forests could be totally decimated within the lifetime of many people living today. War continues to obliterate hopes for peace.

These are only a mere handful of examples out of the many scenarios that are creating anxiety and fear. As 2007 rolls around, this may be the first time in history that the Earth's populations must come to grip with the certainty that common trends are leading to zero point and may well do so in their lifetimes. When do we chop down the last tree, pump the last barrel of oil and hold last rites for aquatic life in the oceans?

May we turn to science, political systems, religion, philosophy or corporate money to bail us out of a seemingly desperate dash toward destruction? A close look at our contemporary institutions does not inspire confidence. Our leaders debate whether torturing prisoners is okay or not. Fundamentalists expect an Armageddon-type event very soon to claim the faithful so why worry about toxic waste? Corporate leaders are behind bars. Sex scandals rock organized religion.

As a professional astrologer as well as a shaman/healer serving an international community of clients, am I predicting the Apocalypse? To answer that question, let's look to the astrological indicators and the shamanic/mythic symbols and images that generally fly under the radar of conventional wisdom. Some things are not always as they seem.

The astronomers announced the discovery of a new planet in 1977 and named it after Chiron, an archetypal teacher-healer in Greek mythology. As time passed, Chiron was alternately reclassified as a planetoid, an asteroid and eventually accepted as a comet captured by our solar system. These identity changes reveal the shamanic nature of Chiron, a shape shifter. He was also a maverick among his own kind, having achieved a higher state of consciousness through meditation and other spiritual practices. He is a destroyer of paradigms.

Referring to the breakdown of prevailing institutions, it should be obvious that there surely is a process of destruction. The question becomes: is this death and annihilation, or is this transformation preceding rebirth into the New World?

The planet Pluto in astrological symbolism is the planet of transformation, of death and rebirth sequences in individual's lives as well as in much longer impersonal cycles reflecting the evolution of all forms of life, including planets. Pluto actually made news on CNN after astronomers announced that Pluto is no longer classified as a planet based on new more precise definitions.

Are you ready for a little cosmic humor? First you need to be aware that our solar system is part of the Milky Way galaxy. The center of the galaxy is known as the Galactic Center. It lies in the late degrees of Sagittarius. This past year Pluto lined up with the Galactic Center and will again in 2007. Pluto rules over transformation and did such a good job that it transformed itself.

Seriously, I look at this momentous event as one of the answers to our earlier question. Are we headed for destruction, or transformation and rebirth? Pluto's connection to the Galactic Center implies a birth into a whole new dimension. The next question is: Just how can that happen?

An evolutionary leap in consciousness to another dimension of reality has long been prophesied from many different sources ranging from indigenous peoples to contemporary shamans and metaphysicians. The date for this event is the winter solstice December 21, 2012. The Sun aligns with the Galactic Center then.

There is a significant group of awakened individuals from all walks of life who have been working with the great evolutionary forces and their own consciousness to establish a counterpoint to the doom and gloom scenarios. The time frame is revealed in the Mayan calendar system. Last year one of the great cycles in this system was observed as the Breakthrough Ceremony. This was mistakenly believed by many as the "end of the world." This is not an end but a transition.

The ultimate answer to our collective fates lies in the hearts and consciousness of each individual on the planet. This is a time for a clearing of hate, anger and fear in our personal lives. Will the planet be saved? Will there be the thousand years of peace? Change yourself -- change the world. Only peaceful hearts can project peace and renewal to the planet. It is not too late.

I personally believe that multiple indicators confirm that a shift in consciousness is happening and will prevail in the long run. As for the year ahead, we may be in for a bumpy ride as the destruction aspect of transformation clears the way for the New World to come.

Angels are messengers from God who are aligned with God's will. Angels rarely give information far into the future, since humankind has free will. Archangel Gabriel, the archangel of guidance and communication, provided a perspective for humanity for the year 2007.

We are delighted to be asked, dear ones. This is a time of great upheaval in the world, and it would be easy to get discouraged. Free yourselves from fear and doubt -- those messages come from the ego and not from God/Source. God is love, and God loves each and every one of you. How could she/he not love you, when you are part of the oneness of the blessed creation?

The angels and archangels and ascended masters are available to each of you. They will not interfere with your free will, yet partnering with them will greatly expand your contribution and theirs.

There is much that you can do, dear ones, to help the world heal. Pray for humankind. Give your angels permission to assist you each day. Walk lightly upon the Earth. Re-use, recycle, reduce and/or renew earthly resources.

Release any time spent hating or judging others, especially with those whom you disagree. Instead, look for the positive, the good, the uplifting. It takes some effort to rise above negativity, yet the effort is rewarded by deepening maturity and wisdom.

The greatest blessing you can give humanity is to increase your own consciousness. There is a ripple effect of blessings as each person's thinking affects the entire oneness, and higher awareness lifts all mankind.

The Pacific Northwest area already is a place that attracts those seeking higher consciousness. Do you notice the many migrations to and from here? Notice the high number of workshops, healers, alternative health offerings, alternative newspapers, organic food and bookstores available here. These would not be so readily available if there were not people here open to seeking and participating. And at the same time, some feel guided to move away and offer what they learned and gained from living in the Northwest. They have grown in confidence and are ready to share their new understanding.

Focus on your spiritual growth and development. This can be done by seeking a simple lifestyle, spending time in nature, meditating and opening up spaces within ourselves for God to fill. Listen to your inner knowing and inner guidance.

Heaven, Earth, and the Weather Channel

For those of you with questions about natural disasters and storms, I see Miss Earth as a dance hall girl, one who has been kicking and whirling. These days, she's taking a little break, catching her breath, sitting out the next couple tunes. It looks like she'll hoist her skirts and dance another jig late in 2007, maybe early 2008.

May we suggest, if you have the sense God gave a post, anchor your book case to the wall and put some putty under your favorite knickknacks. It looks like the neighborhood volcanoes, Hood, Tabor and St. Helen, are doing a little underground fluid exchange. It's not so much a rider-of-the-apocalypse mass destruction kind of thing, more of an inconvenience, with pockets of holy-smokes-what-a-mess.

Local Housing Market

Questions regarding the 2007 housing market caused the guides to show me a little movie of a jockey in bright green silks riding a big powerful horse. They are galloping down a road with no landmarks or signs -- this horse and rider are going nowhere, extremely fast. They disappear into a fog.

The emerging vision is a jester in the same bright green silk, prancing along a high mountain ridge. He dances on a narrow path, perhaps only 12 inches wide. On one side, a steep, nasty cliff of declining prices. On the other side, a slight drop down to a long flat ledge. If the jester jumps down to the ledge, the path remains flat, as long as he pays attention and doesn't slip into one of the many crevasses.

So, the way I'm reading these portents -- the market holds flat for a long time, and then after a period of uncertainty, there's a 50-50 chance it makes a really spectacular bloody crash, or it stays steady in most markets, with some dreadful pockets.

Jobs

Our region's job market looks like a Chinese checker board -- the marbles are jumping all over the place. Jobs look like they are disappearing, and, well, they are. Take note, though, new jobs are showing up in other locations. The key to success is the ability to figure out how to apply what you already know and can do, and morph that into what the marketplace needs.

The Integrity Challenged

Let's say a person has chosen to firmly embrace his or her shadow side, deciding the laws of math and accounting are so limiting, those pesky ordinances are for others, and that bribes and kickbacks are the lube that keeps the engines of commerce running smoothly. For 2007, we see hand, face and fanny slaps, as well as more indictments for the integrity challenged. We see that holds true at every level of business and government.

Everyone's Personal Success

The guides announce some of you will be more successful in 2007 when you spend less time analyzing and act more quickly. Think about Tarzan and Cheetah's vine swinging transportation process -- momentum is what makes the ride work. If Tarzan were to stop and say, "Hmmm, this one is nice, but I'll get splinters. Oh, I like the leaves on this one but it's too short," he wouldn't get anywhere fast, just someplace eventually.

It's good he engages in some observation before making his choices, otherwise he'd grab some big snake or a cat's tail. The same goes for you. Grab with discernment and fly away.

The guides suggest some ways to dodge trouble in 2007. Pay attention. Think and take action. Love and be lovable. Rather than getting mad -- declare untenable situations to be ridiculous, appreciate the absurdity, and then get in there and see what you can do to change it. Don't forget to breathe extremely regularly.
