"The calm before the storm" is an apt description for 2007. Certainly there will be the normal big news events including earthquakes, and explosions, and fires, oh my! However, this is a "nine" year in numerology, which is an indicator of completions.
Tiny, but potent, Pluto aligns with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy all year. Pluto aligns with Galactic Center only every 250 years. As ruler of the underworld, Pluto uncovers secrets, and hidden agendas rise to transform that which separates from Source.
The alignment occurs at the tail end of "I seek higher truth" Sagittarius. When astrological events occur near the end of a sign, it is an indicator of major release before moving on to the next sign. In this case, Pluto enters Capricorn in 2008, which is certain to restructure governments, big business and the baby boomer generation.
On the personal level, you will transform your life to align the philosophical changes that occurred for you since 1995 when Pluto first went into Sagittarius. You will be jockeying back and forth to make certain your inner philosophy and outer actions are synchronized.
Two worldly examples are demonstrating this realignment. British Prime Minister Tony Blair rose to power as Pluto entered Sagittarius, and is leaving office as Pluto makes its exit from the sign of the archer. The second example is the O.J. Simpson murder trial that began as Pluto was shifting out of "hidden spousal abuse" Scorpio and entered "need to renovate the legal system" Sagittarius. As the cycle completes, Simpson's book "If I Did It" never made it to bookshelves, signaling society's rejection of the sensationalism of the murders of Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman.
What part of your transformation (starting in the mid-1990s) needs to be completed before 2008?
The blessing of this plutonic blast is that you clearly see that you cannot go back to old patterns of behavior. The only direction is forward, and this year and a half alignment stimulates you to take a risk on doing what you intuitively know you have to do.
Several planetary shifts help you accomplish your goal. Expansive Jupiter moved into adventurous Sagittarius last November. This potent combination stimulates you to take a giant leap to manifest your highest ideals in the world. You must have faith in yourself and remember that the unlimited source of what Hermetic philosophers call all that is waits to do your bidding. You must take the first step and the universe will fall in to support you.
Jupiter will keep building energy until it aligns with Pluto and the Galactic Center on December 11. A power line map, known as AstroCartoGraphy, indicates areas of the world to watch for transformation. These include the US mountain time zone, the Sydney coast of Australia, India, and the northwest region of Africa near Senegal and Sierra Leone.
Another completion during 2007 is restrictive Saturn ending its two-plus years in Leo. Since July 2005, you have been learning to open your heart, and at the same time, developing an improved set of personal boundaries. The result is the ability to serve on larger levels in your world without being sucked dry by energetic (but oftentimes well-intentioned) vampires.
On Labor Day weekend, productive Saturn moves into efficient Virgo through October 2009. All of your grand ideas that have been building on a philosophical level are called into practical application. Take a full vacation this summer, because the work load increases next autumn.
Altruistic activities and ideals that have been floating in your conceptual mind, or as a part-time hobby, are tested to see if they can work in the mundane world. Some of your idealistic concepts will fall away; others will take on new life so they can manifest for the good of humanity.
One final planetary shift coming in 2007 has to do with your love and money. Venus is retrograde July 27-September 8 in the signs Virgo and Leo. This is the same area where the aforementioned Saturn is operating.
Most people are familiar with the thrice-annual communications breakdown cycle of intellectual Mercury, but sensual Venus appears to go backwards only every year and a half. Whether you are interested in your love life or your bank account, something is going to be cleaned up this summer.
The purpose is to help you open to a higher set of values. You need to open your heart, or your bank account, to expressing and receiving a higher level of abundance. Venus retrograde helps you revision your needs and desires so that you can go to this next level unencumbered.
As you can see, 2007 is a year of completions. Do not simply release people and possessions, but the lower-order fears and behaviors associated with the need to find completion. The new year will be a good year, and has the potential to be relatively easy compared to past years -- and certainly easier than 2008 appears to be. Take a risk on yourself knowing that it is time to take the next step in your soul's evolution, and do so while the Universe is supporting this expansion.
