This is truly a remarkable time in human history. Our understanding of the body/mind has literally taken a quantum leap in the last few years; there has been an flowering of awareness of the spiritual dimensions of life and our place in the cosmos; and finally there has been a readiness to question the formerly unquestionable and to rely on our own discernment of what feels true. My goal in editing New Connexion has been to publish material that offers new perspectives, makes one think more deeply about what needs to change in our lives and our world, and helps us recognize our power and responsibility to do so.
My biggest frustration was not being able to do justice in our limited space to the explosion of wonderful books, films, DVDs and CDs driving the shift. I therefore decided to create a new company that could embrace all the media of this growing consciousness – New Consciousness Review. Our new website (NewConsciousnessReview.com) provides an exciting community space for free profiles and user reviews, bestseller and recommended lists from holistic bookstores, a radio stream with positive music, interviews and feeds of the best holistic shows around the country. It will be the place to come when you want to list your own work, offer a review of something that moved you, or just want to browse. We will link into other magazines like New Connexion, creating a vibrant network of independent New Consciousness press.
To do this I needed to hand over the editorship of New Connexion to someone who felt as passionately as I do about our mission. The angels brought Vicky Thompson, who, in addition to her passion, brings skill, grace and a fresh energy that you will see reflected in the pages of this, her first full issue. Please join me in welcoming her and our new Office Manager, Cathy McGuire.
Vicky and I will do our best to continue to provide information and inspiration to reinforce the spiritual depth and discernment we will need to navigate the “interesting times” ahead.
Bright blessings,
Miriam Knight
