Why Am I So Different?
by Lania Desmond
Have you ever felt like you just don’t fit the mold? That you saw life differently than your parents or siblings? Perhaps you remember vaguely as a child you had unusual talents or gifts that frightened you or others. You may have repressed or hidden them out of preservation. Or you may have hidden them from yourself so effectively, you don’t even remember. Whatever your situation, chances are you have always felt somehow out of sync with the perceptions of the rest of the world.
Don’t feel alone. You may be among a small group of adults born in the last fifty years or so who some have labeled as Indigos. We are the first wave of individuals to be born with the ability to bring in a new paradigm of thinking. As forerunners, we faced incredible resistance. Some of us forged on; many of us buckled under the weight of mass consciousness and hid our knowledge and gifts.
Now, however, as the world is waking up to new thoughts and ideas, it is time for us to shed our old shields of protection. You may now feel you are ready to restore your own unique sense of personal value and confidence in a manner that revives your unique talents and gifts and crystallizes your life’s purpose. SoulPoint can do this for you.
Life as an Indigo
Imagine a movie where the hero was time-traveling on a specific mission. As he goes back several centuries, he hits his head and suffers partial amnesia. He knows he is in a place that is "backwards," but he can't seem to put his finger on how he got there or why. He feels dissociated. Nothing makes any sense.
Indigos feel like our time-traveling hero. Some can recall that even as children, they seemed to have extra gifts. They saw life in a more holographic manner, one more multi-sensory and multi-dimensional.
In the beginning, these individuals had no idea that others didn’t see or talk to angels, or see auras, or know things before they happened. They were not aware that their more expanded picture wasn’t a common experience.
Growing up may have been confusing at best. Many felt they were different, always ahead of everyone and had to slow down to a snail’s crawl just to get by. As a result, they became very reclusive or very rebellious. Either way, they knew they didn't fit in. Think of people who were considered exceptional in their day, such as Gandhi and Buckminster Fuller. In some respect, these individuals show us some of the gifts Indigos possess.
A Closer Look
Just for a moment, let's review what it means to be an Indigo. The third eye (which is the color indigo) deals with the intuitive senses, our imagination and creativity. Most people filter out the ability of their third eye without even knowing it. Indigos, however, have access to this function, and so these abilities and perceptions are more available to them in one degree or another.
In a world that, in the past, has put a huge amount of focus on believing only what you can discern with the traditional five senses, believing in the reality seen by the third eye is a stretch. It might seem that anyone who can perceive beyond the five senses is crazy, just has "a vivid imagination," or is not to be taken seriously.
Music, art, sculpture, and technology all have to come from somewhere. Because Indigos have more access to their intuitive senses, they can see past the three dimensions into the future, into that somewhere.
Everything that currently exists in this world came from someone's imagination before it was manifested into tangible form. Someone, somewhere had an idea. Someone, somewhere could "see" something beyond what already existed. Sometimes they were called lunatics until they could prove the validity of whatever they had imagined. Edison was laughed at after hundreds of attempts to harness electricity with a light bulb. What would life be like today if he had given up?
The New Paradigm
While the third eye is more associated with our imagination and creativity, the brain’s temporal lobes are designed to relay those impressions to us. The way these lobes are calibrated has a lot to do with our ability to perceive reality. They act as a filtering device, affecting how we hear, see, and sense the world around us. They are what determines how our emotional imprints are integrated with the images life has presented us. Temporal-lobe functions are like adding pictures to sound. It's what gives a three-D effect to our perceptions.
For most people, the temporal lobes have been contaminated in myriad ways, causing distortion in the perceptual devices through which reality is viewed. It’s like being born wearing a pair of tinted glasses and growing up thinking it was “normal” to see everything that way.
This was the ruling paradigm of mass consciousness for thousands of years. Recently however, because of their abilities, Indigos from all over the world are being recognized as the mapmakers who are ushering in a major shift in the human condition. As a result of this transformation, the way is being paved for the masses of exceptional children (Indigo Children, Star Children, Crystal Children, and so on) who are now being born.
The Path for Everyone
If you are an Indigo who has repressed your natural gifts, what would it be like if you could finally bring those gifts fully and completely to the surface? That's the function of the SoulPoint Initial Series. It gives you the permission you have yearned for to express the unique gifts you find within yourself—or those that are there to develop. The results are life-changing.
