Are You an Eagle or a Scorpion?

A book could be written on the planetary shifts for the latter half of 2005. The sum total could be described as a realignment of personal and societal values, desires, and needs. While the goal of manifesting a higher consciousness on the planet is quite admirable, the stimulus to shift isn’t likely to be easy (just ask the people of the Gulf Coast).

November and December’s prime motivator is expansive Jupiter beginning its yearlong journey through the Scorpionic swamps of your subconscious. Regardless of your Sun sign, a part of your birth chart holds the intense emotions, fears, and secret desires of the sign Scorpio. Like a long dormant volcano, this area of your life is erupting to make room for the abundant blessings offered by Jupiter.

You must use your free will to choose between intense Scorpionic extremes represented by Scorpio’s two symbols. The Scorpion symbol, when used positively, will help you to plumb the scary shadows of your deepest fears. Negatively, the response will be to kill first for fear of being killed. It would be wise to reflect upon the part of your life that needs to go through death and rebirth so you can manifest your deepest desires.

Help comes when you call forth the second totem symbol of Scorpio, the high-flying eagle. Like the Phoenix rising out of the ashes, you release your fears and soar to the highest spiritual heights. However, you must be willing to transcend the lower aspects of your being rather than reacting to outer world events in a fearful way.

To get a hint about how the energies of autumn 2005 will affect you, think back to the summer of 1999 when the eclipses aligned with an excessively rigid planetary pattern that looked like a large, unmovable square. When an energy that has become so fixed in nature that it is unable to transform itself, the Universe assists by using a cosmic 2 x 4" to stimulate change. The war in Kosovo/Serbia and the giant earthquake in Turkey occurred under this influence in 1999.

On a personal level, Jupiter urges and mentors you to take a risk on manifesting those secret dreams. Scorpio focuses your energy to get you to stop talking and start moving. And if it turns out that your heart is not really in to that goal that you thought was so important to your life, then Scorpio will quickly release it.

Scorpio does not do things halfway. Relationships will go to a deeper level or they will abruptly end. People who want to manifest a relationship or career change will take assertive steps to manifest their goals. Those who really don’t want those things they have been talking about will face the unpleasant reality of their illusions.

In the body, the gall bladder, hemorrhoids, sexually transmitted diseases, and dental issues are activated. Now would be a good time to do a cleansing fast, but do it in moderation.

As you can see, or perhaps "feel" is a better word for Scorpio, you will be going to the very depths of your being to transform yourself at the core. You must choose whether you will react to the intensity of personal and global changes as a scorpion or an eagle.

Aries: You will experience death of the self, meaning that you must honor the values and needs of others before you can get what you need.

Taurus: Relationships of all types come to the forefront of your life, be it in romance or as a real estate magnate.

Gemini: Focus on healing needs and abilities in the year ahead. You don’t need another class or more information. Just get to work.

Cancer: The child within is calling. Open to your creative and playful self rather than taking care of everyone else.

Leo: If you are planning a major move, get on with it. Otherwise, commit yourself to your current location and plant yourself firmly.

Virgo: Teach, travel, take classes, write, and open your mind to greater possibilities than you have allowed yourself. Don’t judge yourself.

Libra: Stop being so diplomatic and nice. Prosper in the material world for no other reason than "just because."

Scorpio: It is time to project your power into the world. Work on self-image and self-confidence to come out of hiding. Change your wardrobe.

Sagittarius: This is the year to work on intuition and spirituality. Make time this year to retreat into the woods or that sacred cave.

Capricorn: You need to get out and shake a few hands this year. The help you receive by meeting new people will shift the burden of your workload to make your life easier in the long run.

Aquarius: Your career and public image needs a change. Accept your power and get involved rather than detaching from the chaos of the world.

Pisces: Travel to sacred places, tune in to the music of the spheres, and take a risk on manifesting that higher vision in the mundane world.
