Puttin’ on the Ritz

Miriam Knight

In celebration of the great energy that our contributors and advertisers are investing in New Connexion, we’re saying thank you by "Puttin’ on the Ritz". We’re going to shine our light a bit brighter with our new glossy cover that we hope will stand out better on the racks and attract more readers to our pages. Our new cover is also environmentally friendly, and you can read all about its UV process and our printer, Eagle Web, on page 28.

We hope you like the new look and all the treats we will be rolling out over the next few issues, and in the words of this Irving Berlin song, "You'll declare it's simply "top-thing" to be there…"

Double the Bang from the new Resource Guide

The digital revolution is changing the way newspapers are doing business in the new-media world. Both consumers and advertisers are demanding the instant accessibility, ease of use and enhanced features that are only available through the Web. New Connexion is fortunate to have a very popular, highly visible website getting over a million hits a month, and growing rapidly. Its popularity is due to the wealth of content we offer, and it is set to get even better.

As of the September/October issue, a newly revamped Resource Guide will be available online, as well as in print (at no extra cost to the advertisers). This will let readers and surfers find the information they need fast, and give our advertisers terrific new exposure! Not only will you see the text and a color picture, but you will be able to link to the person’s website and e-mail, and, shortly, listen to their personal message.

The online Resource Guide is an enhancement of our already popular Classified Directory, and, together with the calendar of events, all are fully searchable category, keyword, name or location.

Helping those who do good, do well

New Connexion is sponsoring a workshop by holistic marketing and PR guru, Andrea Adler, on The Science of Spiritual Marketing this coming October 14-16. Andrea will introduce a new paradigm for understanding marketing and public relations that integrates both spiritual and practical aspects of marketing. She has given thousands of holistic practitioners, artists, musicians and film makers a new perspective on public relations and marketing, one that they can finally take part in and enjoy without reservation.

Traditional marketing techniques show you clever ways to entice the consumer into purchasing a particular product or service, but they are often uncomfortable for those on a path of service. For them it is important to integrate the spiritual and practical laws of abundance into a deliverable package. Andrea cuts through the mystique and challenge of promoting and marketing a holistic business. She knows that holistic practitioners need to align with their Soul’s calling. By diving deep into what the individual soul is yearning to achieve, Andrea helps bring our yearning to a conscious level, where we can see it, feel it and touch it.

New Connexion feels it is a community service to bring Andrea Adler to Portland to offer this intensive workshop that provides you with the practical tools you need to attract the audience you want and achieve the success you desire.

The Friday night introductory lecture will be $15; the Saturday and Sunday workshop will be $150 for 1 day and $250 for both days. Space is limited and this workshop will sell out. This is the workshop you can’t afford to miss. Check Andrea and the course program out at www.holisticpr.com. To register contact Miriam Knight at editor@newconnexion.net or 503-892-3300.
