Its time to dust off the old crystal ball and look into the future. Actually, astrologers gaze into a book of numbers, but crystal balls conjure up a far more romantic (not to mention, less nerdy) image of what is to come.
The forecast for 2004 includes a major theme surrounding relationships. And, this theme is not limited to your love life, or lack thereof. Personal, business, family, and global relationships are all in flux this year.
Last Novembers six-pointed star pattern, called the Harmonic Concordance, can be viewed as the demarcation point between old patterns of relationship behavior and new relationship dynamics that are yet to be clarified.
The Harmonic Concordance was at the Taurus lunar eclipse, with the next step being the May 4, 2004 Scorpio lunar eclipse. Taurus and Scorpio are the builders and destroyers of the solar system, with lunar eclipses dredging you through the dark emotional swamp of your subconscious patterns.
Between Nov. 2003 and May 2004, you are destroying old belief patterns about yourself and your relationship behaviors. This allows new perspectives to rise out of the ashes like a transforming phoenix.
You need only look at the news to see hidden behaviors coming to the surface. Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers and entertainer Michael Jackson are bringing the darker side of sexual relationship beliefs to the surface for cleansing. VP Dick Cheney was featured in Newsweek, describing how he used his private relationship to convince President Bush to begin the Iraq war. He projected fearful images of weapons of mass destruction to manipulate the US overthrow of Saddam Hussein.
This is not to point fingers at public figures. They simply represent an energy that is going on within everyone on the planet. Because we are all One (that is, all connected at the One Source), the dark and/or fearful side demonstrated through public archetypes resides somewhere in the deep shadows of our own Being.
It is a blessing that Light is thrown onto the shadow through these challenging world events. The year 2004 opens you to releasing the shadow of unhealthy relationship beliefs and behaviors.
"Spring Fever" will be more intense than usual this year. Romantic Venus will be moving in a retrograde motion, requiring you to review all of your relationships. (Check out the Cosmic Connexion Nov. 2003 issue of New Connexion on "Peeking through the Veils of 2004" for more information on significant events). This is equally true on a global level.
President Bushs relationship with Tony Blair, his father, and VP Dick Cheney will all be transformed this Spring. With Cheney agreeing to run for Vice President again at a most inauspicious time, it is surprising to see that he has not dropped out of the race to allow another VP candidate to step to the forefront.
On the personal level, allow relationships and limiting relationship behaviors that have outlived their purpose to make a graceful exit. Know that the Universe will support you in making whatever change is in the Highest Good. Holding on will only prolong the agony and make for a ragged end when it inevitably comes.
Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) and Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) signs will likely find this transformation to occur faster and easier. Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) are likely to process these changes for a longer time, but will be at peace when they finally allow, that which they intuitively know is going to come to pass anyway. Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) must avoid allowing their life to become like an empty shell, where they keep up outer appearance when the life has left the relationship.
For all signs, have courage in allowing your relationship beliefs, behaviors, and action to transform. When Jupiter enters romantic Libra near the autumnal equinox, you will thank yourself for trusting yourself to open to new dynamics in your relationship life. Fall will be fertile ground for deeper and abundant relationships.

There will be a gradual economic recovery, which will start slowly and continue in that fashion with improvement beginning in March of 2004.
There will be strong winds in January/February of 2004, so I would ensure that I had candles, matches, firewood and stored food. Dont forget warm clothing. When its happening, think of this time as a picnic, away from the usual stresses of life.
After this winter season you will be so happy to see the flowers start to bloom again. There will be lots of snow in the mountains, so that the snow pack will enable Oregon to get its water for the summer. The majority of the snow will fall in January and February. It feels as though there will be an early spring.
I feel volcanic activity happening in Japan, Mexico and the potential for Yosemite to have some activity as well. It is known that the earths crust there is expanding upward and that people are being forbidden to be in certain areas of the park.
Financially the housing market will continue with new starts. However, ordinary production will be depressed, with many companies moving their production out of the country, thus hurting the American economy by closing shops and further layoffs.
There is a potential for an event which could trigger retaliation from the U.S.
There will be problems in Eastern Europe, Africa, Indonesia and the East Coast of America.
Potential tensions may arise fro the USA, Russia, Japan, China, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Great opposition to President Bush and his policies due to the populations anger with regard to the removal of billions of dollars from the Social Security fund.
Note: People are no longer passive. Dishonesty in high places is apparent, and the population is demanding that justice be done. The enacting of deals which favor the rich and rob the middle class and the poor is obvious, and causes discontent. When the jobs are gone, and people are losing their homes, cars and are living on the streets, there will be repercussions. People are running out of patience.
It is important to stress that the world is too small for us to be warring with each other. We must find a way to live in peace. Brotherhood must occur with all races, as we really are one.
It is right and just for everyone to have food, shelter and clothing. There is enough for everyone.
The earth is alive. If we continue to kill her, look for the earth to rebel with strange weather, violent storms, and solar flares. Look around you and see that many species are leaving the face of this earth in droves.
Great cosmic changes are afoot. As small and insignificant as you think you are, you are powerful and keeping a positive outlook will assist this planet towards its healing. Be at peace; center yourselves and know that you do make a difference.

One cannot in brief words describe all planetary influences of 2004. First, it is essential to note that the planetary energies may be understood as a type of weather. Astrologers can indeed note the weather its length and typical effects. However, how humankind chooses to respond to the planetary "weather" is always a guess. If humanity does not change, then habit will prevail. The habits of history have not been good ones. Therefore, let us encourage a positive collective response to planetary stimuli.
Also, we have seeds in our garden. The planetary weather will awaken these seeds. Often a prediction depends first on what is in mankind's garden ready to sprout!
The contractive, restrictive energy of Saturn remains in our national sign of Cancer. This is likewise the birth sign of President Bush. Cancer, by nature is home making, protective and defensive. The protectionist attitude and provincialism displayed by our country in the last year is likely to continue! The unpopularity and recent alienation of the United States from its friends and foes alike is certainly something we should work immediately to reverse! If not, it increases. How can we be defensive in a useful and positive manner?
The patriotic sign of Cancer also has a strong connection with our "homeland". Contractive Saturn in Cancer indicates a potentially difficult influence on the land. Positively, it is a call to protect our cherished earth! We must actively protect this homeland or we will witness an increasingly destructive denuding of our land's forests and resources. Bush's "forest protection plan" looms. Take heed.
Cancer is a water sign. Additionally to Saturn's travels through Cancer this year we find strong eclipses in Scorpio, a sister water sign. World water problems continue, with water shortages, floods and endangered oceans. If we fail to reverse our course, the toxification of the earth begins reaching a "high water" mark.
Moneys for social programs, education and health continue to be tight. Reserves are low. Saturn in Cancer is always a call to prudent saving and yet we do the reverse! The results will await us one day. We do have a choice but must reverse our outside spending now. Saturn in Cancer is a call to look after one's own house - not someone elses!
Expansive Jupiter remains in health-conscious Virgo until late September. The current media interest in obesity, diabetes, health of children, etc. continues. Personally, 2004 is a great year to cleanse the liver, intestines, colon, breasts and lymphatics of toxins and to strengthen the pancreas. These body parts are under sluggish planetary weather this year. This is not medical advice.
The effects of the recent November 8th eclipse period (with electrical Uranus "standing still" the same date), continue through March 1st, with a "trigger" point on the February 6th Full Moon, (5th-7th) and again Feb 25-March 1. These effects, if they occur, are sudden, dramatic, electrical! One could use stronger words.
All matters governed by Scorpio, Taurus and Aquarius are influenced by surprise changes, shock, discovery, releases or reversals: Stock markets, oil, electrical companies, electrical outages, government heads, terrorists, food and money supply, wines, cattle, genetics, high technology, plagues, seismic events (to name a few).
Precisely who is influenced by this mighty "eclipse wave" and where requires research beyond the scope of this extremely brief summation. Positively, great power is available for huge shifts within individuals, nations and world paradigms.
This is an awakening energy. What will be awakened? How will humanity respond? Extremists respond by becoming more extreme. Will the good, sweet and wise find a way to influence our world situation? This too is plausible.

2004 has the Dragon's Tail in Scorpio. Scorpio rules life and death, drama, reincarnation, sex corporate endeavors, the police force, the FBI, CIA, mafia, insurance companies etc. Expect a complete restructure of these organizations where secrets will be exposed. Under Pluto's jurisdiction all that is hidden must become known. As seen with the church sex scandals, all that was detrimental to the "organization" had been kept secret, but some has been exposed. Expect more to come to the fore involving secret government agencies and the banking industries. Pluto or Scorpio rules death and many "infamous" authorities not only will lose their position but also their lives. Expect a serious rise in suicides plaguing the world in 2004 where the mad dance of evil will rejoice in the name of ignorance. Fraudulent endeavors involving sex, insurance and corporate activities will increase. Many insurance companies will suffer the impact due to many dramatic "acts of God". Expect Mother Nature to endure interior changes such as volcanic eruptions, earthquake activity, and weather changes, as the earth is going through a form of rebirth.
This dramatic sign rules death and rebirth, forcing the world to experience dramatic happenings and wars. The passionate and destructive energy of the Dragon's Tail in Scorpio will take many young lives while terrorist' suicide attacks will increase drastically. Russia and India (Scorpio) countries will be forced to divulge unhealthy secret projects and errors pertaining to nuclear arsenals falling in the wrong hands. Las Vegas will see an obvious impact of the passage of the Tail of the Dragon on this city. Many Scorpionic businesses and agencies will be forced to declare bankruptcy due to dramatic happenings from foreign fanatic religious groups. I am concerned for the welfare and financial affairs of the United States. Scorpio rules "Super Wealth," so parts of the Middle East including Saudi Arabia are under this plutonic energy. Scorpio is the 5th house of the U.S. which governs the children, and we may be involved in a war that will cause harm or death to many young and brave soldiers dying for their country and oil.
Specific Predictions:
Total restructure of the banking and the law enforcement industry (FBI/CIA).
Total restructure of the insurance industry due to serious losses will directly affect Switzerlands hidden affairs.
Serious geological discovery from Egypt.
Stock market crash: The Dow-Jones, Nikkei, Hang-Seng and Wall Street indices will all halve between the month of May and November 2004.
A cure for AIDS by the end of 2004: A refereed medical journal will publish a paper showing that a particular drug has a better than 50% success rate at curing AIDS.
End of wave of terrorism, the Middle East as we know it has changed drastically. Saddam and Osama and 3 others major Arab leaders are dead and a part of history; tears are drying and all is in the past. Europe, the US and all Asian countries aim for peace and restructure December 2005. Objective measurement: Treaties will be signed and all countries will have seats at the UN. Fighting will cease, and UN troops, including peace keepers will have left. A new form of religion, free of fear and judgments, is on the way with new light teachers.

An astrological preview of 2004 surfaces a theme of emotional maturation, not only personally but globally. This theme is based on reviewing the movements of the planets Saturn and Uranus during the upcoming year.
Saturn continues to pass through Cancer where it has been since June 2003. The US has its Sun in Cancer, as does George W. Bush. With Saturn in Cancer, we can expect to see the US adjusting to a newly defined sense of itself. With Saturn opposite Chiron much of the year, this re-definition involves a major healing around our nations self-image. When Saturn was in Cancer most recently, we were healing/restructuring our sense of self around the Vietnam War and Watergate (1973-1975), and reworking our self-image around the culmination of WWII, the beginning of the Cold War and the integration of the use of nuclear weapons into our world (1944-1946). In 2004 we can expect the Iraq war to continue to push our nation to take responsibility for the image it projects and the ramifications of that image. We can expect to see our country face its own sense of woundedness and refocus on our roots and our values.
We begin the New Year with Uranus re-entering Pisces on December 30th where it will traverse until March of 2011. Uranus had a short transit in Pisces in March 2003 for 6 months. Uranus represents cycles of liberation and change. Pisces represents the spiritual emotional side of life. It is the energy within us that yearns to exist totally in the spirit realms of existence. Pisces is compassion, imagination, escapism, addiction, empathy, intuition, and victimization. It is the feeling part of us that will do what it must to avoid pain and move toward altered or non-physical states where it is most comfortable. Uranus in Pisces symbolizes many changes, sometimes unexpected, in our orientation to the spiritual, universal, imaginative, emotional aspects of life.
Historically, Uranus in Pisces was associated with reorganizations of what was known as the Ottoman Empire and is now Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. During other periods of Uranus in Pisces, we have seen major advances in physics and in our understanding of the origin of humankind. These are times when we experience breakthroughs in our perception and definition of the universe and how we fit into it. These breakthroughs are not only seen in the areas of science and physics, but also in philosophy, human rights and social reform. We can expect to see similar themes in the coming years while Uranus remains in Pisces themes of power struggles in the Middle East and of reorienting ourselves to our universe.
On a personal level, Uranus in Pisces challenges us not only to become conscious of our escapist, addictive tendencies but to liberate ourselves from these patterns. It is the time to begin to see how we victimize or sabotage ourselves. Whether we are victims of our hectic schedules, children, work or whether we get lost in the internet, cell phone, or latest digital devices, it is time to walk away from these sabotaging habits which provide us an escape from looking at what is really going on inside. Many of us are struggling with a lack of spiritual insight or guidance especially when trying to understand the state of the world today. We are yearning for a sense of optimism and hope, two qualities hard to come by these days. This state of apathy or despair further encourages us to lose ourselves in our lives. But with Uranus in Pisces, we are being forced to change our coping mechanisms. Our escapes may no longer be effective in keeping us out of our spiritual pain or despair. We are being asked to develop new ways of expressing spirit, emotion and intuition in our daily lives and by doing so to nurture our own sense of hope and optimism.
Interweaving these themes with those of Saturn in Cancer, 2004 will be a year where many of us are asked to redefine our sense of home, our sense of security, our sense of our country by combining our spiritual values and expressions into our day to day lives. We may be asked to put our money where our mouth is, to walk our talk, or to stand up for what we believe our nation represents. Its time to get our act together, to grow up and to liberate ourselves from our childlike states. Get ready.
