Understanding Homosexuality
A Metaphysical Perspective
by David Moyle
The whole issue of homosexuality has torn huge ugly holes in our societies
by socially ostracizing and persecuting to individuals who feel drawn
toward member of their own sex for relationships rather than the social
norm of selecting partners from the opposite gender. This attitude toward
a minority has also caused soul damage to those individuals who personally
experience this state of being, whether openly, secretly, or suppressed.
The source of this unfortunate circumstance is based on gross misunderstanding
and disinformation about our true natures passed through our religions.
The fact that some cultures do not socially ostracize those few who
feel sexual preference for their own gender erodes the notion that it
is "human nature" to detest aberrant sexual preference.
Explanation for the phenomena cannot come from our past medical, psychological,
or theological models. All of these models are flawed, which is why
it is becoming increasingly apparent that we need a new model to define
our race. A model that is broader, more spiritual, and more in tune
with the notion that all things are connected is needed to release these
unbalanced though patterns from our race.
Once one comes to the knowledge that what we really are as humans is
an eternal spirit temporarily occupying a biological instrument
to allow us to experience the physical world, not the reverse, our perspectives
on many things change. We are not an animal-derived creature with
a spirit, we are spiritual beings occupying a physical body.
With this concept as our backdrop, homosexuality becomes not so difficult
to explain.
When we as spiritual beings enter into the physical universe, our highest
level body of form, our light body, takes on an electrical alignment,
either positive or negative. Likewise, the physical human body is electrically
charged either positive or negative, male gender being positive, female,
negative. These terms are not to imply any judgement or value to one
gender over the other, any more than we would imply such value to the
positive and negative posts of a battery or poles of a magnet. They
simply are terms signifying an electrical difference between the two.
Our higher dimensions of our spirit-selves are beyond polarity, beyond
gender (thus the notion of God being either masculine or feminine is
a perspective from limited human consciousness).
This electrical difference causes a normal, automatic attraction between
the genders, just like the positive pole of a magnet is attracted to
a negative pole. Likewise, like charges of magnets repel another of
the same charge. Uniquely in humans though, we can have a mixed message
come through: the physical body of a male will be sexually attracted
to the physical body of the human female. When the light body that inhabits
these bodies is in electrical alignment, a "normal" heterosexual
attraction exists. When a male body has a female (negative) light body,
however, the ego inhabiting the body experiences both attraction and
repulsion at the same time, hence the sensation of being a woman in
a mans body. The same situation occurs when a female body is occupied
by a male (positive) spirit. The result of this experience will depend
upon the relative strengths of the three aspects of the individual
the body, the ego, and the light body. All other aspects of the individual
can be as normal as that which exists in the culture of the person.
Intellectual prowess, emotions, ability to express love and compassion,
intuition, natural talents, and so forth will all still exist in the
person.
Why do these circumstances occur? Why would a spirit-self wish to embody
itself into its opposite polarity? For positive/male spirits, perhaps
it is seeking refuge in a female form to escape the experiences of hundreds
of lifetimes of being conscripted into a life of a cheaply expendable
soldier, being slaughtered for the mere purpose of gaining or defending
territory for the current tyrant. He wants to live at least one full
life to old age. He might also have abused, brutalized, or raped women
in past lives and wants to experience the other side of that which he
dished out.
For the female spirit-self, "hiding out" in a male form might
be to escape the many lifetimes of degradation, abuse, and rape she
has experienced. She may want to experience the physical strength and
power of a mans body and perhaps better understand why so many
males fear the female gender and therefore disempower them and hurt
them. Having been raped, she may want to experience being the rapist.
Biblical text to the contrary, God expresses no judgment about any
of these matters, for God judges nothing. To do so would be for God
to limit Its expression of Itself, something It will never do. Homosexuality
does not exist elsewhere in the kingdom of Nature like it does in humans
simply because only humans have individual spirit-selves.
Homosexuality can never be defined in terms of any bodily or mental
disease. Neither is it a choice of the Ego-self; it cannot be unchosen
by the personality of an individual. The expression of this state can
be suppressed by the Ego and often is suppressed due to the cultural
distaste for this poorly understood phenomena. This suppression usually
leads to severe depression, lack of self-esteem and rapid development
of degenerative diseases through self hate. All of the negative consequences
of homosexuality derive from cultural attitudes and closed mindedness,
not the state of homosexuality itself. Homosexuality cannot be cured;
it cannot be resolved through psychotherapy of the personality. It can
only be understood and allowed, so that those spirit-selves who have
chosen the experience can add their natural values and talents and diversity
to the culture they have come into and can add to the knowledge and
wisdom they collect in their souls to further understand the fullness
of themselves as spiritual beings.
