Summer’s Spiritual Warrior
Mars retreats for a vision quest

The summer presents an auspicious opportunity to expand the mission your soul carried into this incarnation. Mars, the warrior, travels on an unusually long Holy Grail-type quest in visionary Pisces.

Aggressive Mars normally journeys through a zodiac sign every six weeks. Between June 16 and Dec 16, the fiery planet travels through spiritually focused Pisces for six months. Warriors do not like to retreat, but that is exactly what Mars will do between July 29 and September 27th. During this relatively uncommon retrograde cycle, Mars will appear to move backwards in the sky. Although this is an optical illusion, you may find that your forward progress slows down this summer.

Relax (literally)! The Universe is not out to thwart your life plan. Rest, rejuvenation, and insightful retreats are your marching orders in the weeks ahead. You can accomplish more by pulling within than all the action taken while feeling burned out. The summer is ripe for a vision quest. Whether you go off into the woods Native American style, or you simply retreat to Piscean ocean hideaways, Mars retrograde is your opportunity to remember why you volunteered to come to planet earth.

July through September is the time to review whether or not your spiritual vision and worldly ambitions are in alignment. Prepare behind-the-scenes plans to assert an ambitious vision beginning in October.

Although the following is not the lofty example that this article intends to convey, it graphically demonstrates the energy ahead. Mars was previously retrograde during the summer of 2001. Shortly after the warrior planet left Sagittarius retrograde, secret plans came forth as the September 11th attack.

Fortunately, this summer’s Mars retrograde cycle appears to be much mellower. Because the warrior planet is very close to earth in August (perihelion), fires and drought will be in the news again. Global hot spots include Turkey, Syria, Israel, Egypt, Alaska, and Indonesia. This could include earthquakes and explosive revolutionary outbreaks.

On the personal level, time invested on your spiritual connection will make your life easier. Instead of pushing the next project into the world, take time out to allow your Divine Essence to flow through you. This makes it easier for Creation to help you with your new vision.

Aries: Make peace with your restless nature. Yoga, Tai Chi, or jogging at the beach will help you settle down to develop improved listening and intuitive skills.

Taurus: You have the ability to manifest your own desires. Now you need to help others do the same. Rewards come by serving the good of the community.

Gemini: Integrate head and heart. You are learning to speak from a place of feelings and compassion. Give your mind a rest.

Cancer: Let go of your personal family in order to serve the family of humanity. People need to hear what you have to say, in spite of limiting beliefs that they do not.

Leo: Enhance your prosperity consciousness by developing a willingness to receive. After you trudge through your personal fears of success and failure, you will mentor others to follow suit.

Virgo: Burst your illusions surrounding all types of relationships. You are learning a new way to share and cooperate.

Libra: You are not here to save the world. Balance healthy personal habits with your service to the world.

Scorpio: You will help set people free of fears that prevent them from taking a risk on themselves. Begin by opening to your inner child.

Sagittarius: You may be thinking about a move or other remodeling in your home life. Take care of your emotional needs before you begin a new adventure.

Capricorn: Prepare to communicate your great ideas to the world. It may be time to pull back and write.

Aquarius: Communicating your innovative ideas is not enough. Make a plan to put your money and physical effort into manifesting your ideals.

Pisces: You are preparing to come out of that monk’s cave. Polish your self -image and enhance self-confidence.
