Finding the Love of Your Life!

by Jim Anderson, owner/founder of HeartQuest Introduction Service

1. Keep meeting new people. The love of your life is a rare and wonderful person who is particularly resonant with your energy, goals, and interest (perhaps only one person in a thousand even comes close). The most important thing is to keep meeting new people. It may take some time, but it’s worth it. Don’t give up!

2. Date for enjoyment, not for a relationship. Be willing to date people you think probably aren’t what you really want in a relationship partner. Don’t be so impatient and focused about finding a relationship that you don’t take the time to enjoy casual dating. Someone you don’t think is right for you may surprise you as you get better acquainted. Have fun and enjoy yourself!

3. Don’t be discouraged by your past. There is no such thing as time wasted in a failed relationship. You’ve learned some valuable lessons. You are now more prepared to enter into a happy and healthy relationship. Don’t hold on to fault and blame about past relationships. People change and so have you. Let go of the past. Get on with life!

4. Accept and enjoy your singleness. You have more to offer in a relationship if you are secure and content in your singleness. Don’t feel sorry for yourself and think that you need a relationship to be happy. Contented people are more likely to have long-lasting, healthy relationships. Cultivate a positive attitude toward yourself and life in general. Appreciate yourself!

5. Learn more about yourself and others. No matter what your age, the best time to learn more about yourself and others is when you are single. Any class, workshop or activity which contributes to a positive attitude or enhances self-esteem is valuable. At the very least, it’s an excellent way to meet other people with positive, upbeat attitudes. Never stop learning!

6. Beware of rigid expectations. Avoid rigid ideas of what you want in a romantic partner. Be open to the idea that the love of your life is someone far more complex and fascinating than you can imagine. Don’t box people out – be open to the infinite possibilities the universe has to offer. Surprise yourself!
