How Spirit Speaks

Slowly, we are each coming into the awareness that whatever we do is reflected back to us. As we wish another well, others bestow gifts of blessings into our lives. As we fear, those that we know and do not know show us how to fear more keenly. All that we experience is both internal and externally bound as a creative act of our own spirit. All that we create is a mirror of our spiritual expression.

As each of us connects more clearly to spirit, our own guidance speaks to us more clearly. One need not be an intuitive or psychic to feel the presence of spirit. Authors, poets, artists and athletes often speak in terms of feeling connected, or being in ‘the zone’. These are all ways of expressing the alignment with, and support by, spirit during an endeavor.

Spirit doesn’t wait to connect to you until you are doing something important. Guidance is always and already present. It is we who forget to invite God, All That Is, or spirit into our lives. Not surprisingly, when we wait to invite our guide, angel or muse to enter into our awareness, the connection is a bit rusty. It takes a lot more energy to hear and understand when the connection isn’t used regularly.

Spirit speaks to us in different ways. For many it is something they feel as hot, warm, tingly or goose bumps. For others it is just a knowing of something that appears in their minds. For others they may see an image or colors, as if in their mind’s eye. All these phenomena are spiritual connections being made.

Seldom does spirit speak out loud in full sentences. Most often spiritual energies lay themselves into the conscious knowledge you carry, or into your body’s awareness of itself. When spirit wishes to convey to you that you are doing well, you may feel a rush of joy in your heart. In a moment when spirit is bringing you information, you may suddenly remember a situation that has similarities to the situation you are in.

Spirit cannot tell you what you do not know, or what you would not choose to know. Sprit speaks in the language of unconditional love. This is the language of empowerment. Spirit will never tell you what to do, for spirit honors and promotes our abilities as co-creators.

Spirit touches upon our hearts and the conscious knowledge and experiences we each hold. For this reason spiritual messages are not always perfect – they are limited by the knowledge of the receiver, and by the experiences each receiver holds.

Author and channeler John Friedlander has said repeatedly that he believes there is no such thing as a clear channel. This is also my opinion. Even deep trance channels, those who fall asleep and through whom spirit then speaks, are still experiencing spiritual energies flowing through a body. As Michael channel Shepherd Hoodwin pointed out to me, the physical body still retains its subconscious and unconscious nature, and thereby it’s unique tuning of reality. For this reason all spiritual messages are colored by the nature of the person they are traveling through.

This is not to say that channeled or spiritual material is suspect. Rather, that we each have the ability and responsibility to ‘feel out’ the accuracy of spiritual messages. Spirit always speaks in loving ways to us. As an intuitive healer myself, I seek to understand more fully the information that I hear from others or which comes through me. My angels have shared with me that as they connect through me and support me, they receive love also. As guides or angels assist us their very nature of love is expanded.

Each of us, whether we believe we are sensitive to spirit or not, provides a vessel, a body, for spiritual expression. Without us spirit would have no impact upon the earth!

Be creative, open to your own spirit, your own nature of love, your own guide, or angel, or muse. Ask a question in stillness, and let the answer come to you in song, in music, in home redecorating, in organizing a meeting or in silence. Your connection with spirit can never be broken, only forgotten. Allow spirit to support you as you are designed to be supported.
