Sounds Divine:
Change Your Name and Change Your Life

Born in Tamil Nadu, India, Sri Siva is the first scholar-mystic from the Tamil Siddha tradition to travel to the West. As the Siddha mantras have never been published, the mystical teachings can only be passed on by word of mouth. The first individual to be given permission to teach these meditations was Wayne Dyer. Sri Siva, who remained in silence for a long period, is now coming forth to teach this powerful wisdom himself.

There is power in the Name of God. You may have seen TV evangelists calling on Jesus to heal your body, get you a job and so on. The basis for this practice is Jesus himself, who had said repeatedly that if you pray in his name he would fulfill your prayer. Also, in a special prayer that Jesus taught, he said (referring to God), “May your holy name be honored.” One of the Ten Commandment says, “Don’t take god’s name in vain.” What is there in the Name of God? There is everything in His Name. Not only is there everything in God’s Name, but any name has positive or negative qualities.

Name and Form (Nama -Rupa)

Name and Form (Nama-Rupa) is an important spiritual concept in Sanskrit. Name and form are tied together. Form will decay over a period of time, but name will not. Why?

Name is energy and form is matter. A man may die and his form, which is his body, will be eaten up by worms. Nevertheless, his name will survive. The children carry not only the genes of the father, but his name as well. The most important thing in a name is that it is composed of sounds and sounds never get destroyed. The yogis have declared that space is not empty, but made of sound waves. During the end of every world cycle, everything gets destroyed except space. And, space is filled with sound. Sound is pure energy. Because of its ability to carry meaning, sound creates matter. This is a complex concept in Yoga Philosophy. Suffice it to know that sound creates matter.

Positive and Negative Sounds:

There are positive and negative sounds. Some sounds can kill and some can save. Some will create poverty and some prosperity. Remember that not only do people have names, but places have names too. Some cities are unlucky for certain individuals because their names don’t vibrate with the cities’ name. Fundamentally, you have to find out if your name has helped you to come up in life.

For instance, the name Bill carries very powerful vibes. Bill is a short form for William, which carries the consciousness of a king. However, not all Williams become William the Conqueror, and not all Bills become Bill Clinton or Bill Gates.

There are many factors involved in choosing a name. Primarily it should correspond to your birthstar and your ruling planets. I strongly recommend that all of you who want to change your luck might want to do two things. First, change your name and second, change the way you sign your name. Remember, you don’t need to change your last name. Your destiny is controlled by your first name. You can keep your last name.

Madonna was clever in changing her name to reflect the name of the mother of Jesus. In fact, Madonna herself has been an incarnation of a Tantric Mother Goddess. So was Marilyn Monroe. Because she was a goddess of joy, she could not tolerate the pain on the earth plane. Elizabeth Taylor shares similar characteristics with Marilyn. Oprah Winfrey’s power comes from her name Oprah. Elvis was an elf and he could not tolerate the mundane world either. Because Elvis has been an elf, people think that he is still not dead. Finally, the name of President Bush is a very powerful name. His first name, George, is a royal name. His last name has been primarily responsible for his spirituality.

The Burning Bush is closely related to him in building his faith.

On a personal note, I have changed my name three times. All spiritual teachers change their names in India. Two of my names are very powerful – Brzee and Siva. The name Brzee was given to me by the royal saint Visvamitra. He said that it took 1200 years of meditation to come up with the sound “Brzee” that can bring prosperity and peace to those who chant it. I have a video in my home study course, the Personal Transformation Program, that teaches the special characteristics of this sound. My current name, Siva, is something comparable to the equation E=MC2

(I don’t get personally involved in the name changing business, although I have given spiritual names to a few people by my own choice. However, my Indian Ashram can help with name changes.).

Sri Siva studied with gurus in the Himalayas and South India.
