Flax Oil As a True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarcation, Cancer and Other Diseases

This fascinating little book offers a clear explanation of the most fundamental
processes in the bodys metabolism of food in general, and
fats in particular. In the process, it shakes the foundation of
the common view of the causes and treatment of cancer and other
diseases. The logic is very persuasive, which is not surprising,
because Dr. Johanna Budwig is a world-renowned Scientist & Biochemist
who has researched the healing benefits of fats for well over 50
years. Nominated seven times (!) for the Nobel Prize, she is currently
in her early nineties and resides in her native Germany. Few people
have had greater impact on modern nutritional science, which owes
a great deal to Dr. Budwig's early discoveries on Fat Metabolism
and Healing, even though much of the information has been ignored
or suppressed by commercial interests.
Now translated for the first time in English, Flax Oil As a
True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer and Other Diseases
records a series of lectures on her research delivered to the
scientific community. A must read, her research has brought about
a scientific revolution by making the connection between Cancer
and other diseases and impaired Fat Metabolism. The breathtaking
news, however, is that these defects of metabolism can be corrected
quickly and without drugs. Dr. Budwig describes taking moribund
patients, with only hours to live, out of hospital and returning
them to health. The regimen she recommends is based on a combination
of flaxseed oil and a source of protein such as cottage cheese,
which renders the oil water soluble.
She cites research that conclusively proves that animals or humans
fed only hydrogenated or saturated fats ate six times as much those
fed a diet containing only unsaturated fats! Basically all the commercial
processes done to fat to increase shelf like make them harmful to
the body. The oil she recommends is cold-pressed flax oil, and suggests
adding a bit of honey to an opened bottle as a preservative.
This brilliant scientific mind is also a talented cook and has
put together a wonderfully imaginative "cookbook" - a
practical guide for the use of oils in daily meal preparation. Entitled
The Oil Protein Diet Cookbook, it contains many practical
and delicious recipes utilizing her life-saving recommendations
about "Good" fats and "Bad" fats, and the proper
use of fats in daily cooking.
