New Connexion Presents Frontiers in New Thought:

The Science Behind Psychic Phenomena

Have you ever wondered what’s really happening in our bodies and brains when we think or say something? Ever wondered where your mind really is? What happens in our cells when we are dis-eased? Or healed? Join us for a presentation and discussion of Dr. Bruce Lipton’s insightful video “The Science of Innate Intelligence.” Fasten your seatbelts for some surprising answers.

The session will be moderated by prominent speaker and writer Dr. Ruth Miller, a specialist in integrating ideas from the “new sciences,” cross-cultural studies, systems thinking, new thought spirituality, and consciousness research. Dr. Miller has a Ph.D. in systems science, an M.S. in cybernetic systems, a Certificate in environmental studies and a B.A. in anthropology. She is also a second degree Reiki practitioner and is ordained as an independent New Thought minister.

There is no charge for this event, which will be held as part of the Lifeways Psychic Expo at Montgomery Park on Saturday, October 13th from 2 to 5pm.

CDM Celebrates 25th Anniversary

The CDM Psychic Institute and Church of Divine Man are proud to announce the celebration of their 25th Anniversary on September 29, 2001. This event marks a milestone in the creation and growth of CDM. In 1976, CDM was founded in Seattle, Washington, and was known as the Washington Psychic Institute. In the last twenty-five years, the name has changed to the CDM Psychic Institute/Church of Divine Man and has grown to include seven spiritual communities and institutes throughout the Northwest and Canada.

As we celebrate CDM, we also honor our founders, M.F. “Doc” Slusher and Mary Ellen Flora. Doc, a retired dentist and World War II veteran, was a former mayor Quincy, Washington. Mary Ellen Flora, taught high school at the American School in Singapore and was the Youth Program Coordinator at the Mission District YMCA for several years. Mary Ellen and Doc met in Berkeley, California in 1976 and together they created and nurtured the CDM Psychic Institute/Church of Divine Man. Through the years both Doc and Mary Ellen have taught thousands of people spiritual techniques that have changed their lives.

Over the last twenty-five years, CDM has evolved into what it is today – a powerful resource where everyone can re-connect with his or her spiritual self and God. The Portland CDM, located at 3314 SW First Avenue, offers classes in meditation and healing as well as a two-year clairvoyant training program. These classes offer the individual the opportunity to learn how to quiet their body-mind system and get to know the aspect of God that is within them in a safe, non-mystical environment. The next series of eight weekly meditation and healing classes will run from October 21st to December 16th. The clairvoyant training program can be entered at the beginning of any quarter (January, April, July, and October). In addition to training, CDM also offers a spiritual community where people can practice using their spiritual techniques and celebrate their connection to God.

Sunday Church Services are at 11:00 AM, Healing Times on Sundays at 12:30 PM and Thursdays at 7:00 PM, Psychic Abilities Demonstrations on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM, Meditation Hour on Thursdays at 6:00 PM, and many social events and activities are offered. For more information concerning any of the classes or activities, you can contact Portland CDM at (503) 228-0740.

The CDM Psychic Institute’s 25th Anniversary Party on September 29, 2001 will feature the release of the Institute’s co-founder Mary Ellen Flora’s new book, Clairvoyance: Key to Spiritual Perspective. A noted author, healer, clairvoyant and powerful speaker, Mary Ellen Flora will also be giving a presentation at Portland CDM on Sunday, November 18th at 1:00 PM. To register or for more information call (503) 228-0740. For information about the clairvoyance book or the 25th Anniversary Party, contact (425) 259-9322 or 1 (800) 360-6509.

The historic Campaign for Disclosure is coming to Portland September 12 and to Salem on September 13. The Disclosure Project is a nonprofit research project working to fully disclose the facts about UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence, and classified advanced energy and propulsion systems. The disclosure of the truth will have far-reaching implications for our society--new technologies to end pollution and global warming, long-term solution to the energy crisis, and the beginning of an era of peaceful relations with other civilizations in space.

During the past year, Dr. Greer and the Disclosure Project have been able to identify, contact, and videotape interviews with nearly 100 military, intelligence, and government witnesses to UFO events and projects. Many of these interviews and accompanying evidence are definitive and will establish the reality of the ET/UFO subject as well as the nature and purpose of the secrecy surrounding it.

Dr. Greer has just spent several weeks briefing senators and house representatives on Capitol Hill, following the landmark National Press Club Conference May 9 in Washington, DC that was live webcast. Over 250,000 people were waiting on-line for the press conference to begin. The next biggest webcast event at the National Press Club attracted less than 25,000.

The Portland event will be on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 - 6 to 10 pm at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1126 SW Park Ave., Portland OR 97205. There will be a $5 Facility Fee.

It will include an exclusive showing of the 2-hour Disclosure video of dozens of government and military witnesses to UFO and extraterrestrial events and projects, and a presentation by Disclosure Project Director Steven M. Greer, MD. See http://www.disclosureproject.org for more information.
