Circle of Light: A Call to Express Our Godselves
by Larraine Brannan and Jill Orevik
Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle.
The sky is round, and I have heard that the
Earth is round like a ball and so are all the stars.
The wind, in its greatest power, whirls.
Birds make their nests in circles,
For theirs is the same religion as ours.
The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle.
The moon does the same and both are round.
Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing,
And always come back again to where they were.
The life of a man [person] is a circle, from childhood to childhood,
And so it is in everything where Power moves.

One afternoon we were visited by angels. They called us to organize
gatherings to anchor a point of light on the planet. We had a vision
of a building that was round, with circular windows and star-shaped
skylights. All the seating was in concentric circles. The last row was
occupied by angels. A variety of colorful mandalas adorned the walls.
There were chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and each consisted of
several circular rows of crystals. The crystals were glowing with Divine
Light and illuminated the space. We sensed that anyone drawn to these
gatherings would participate in creating something beautiful, powerful
and unique. We received a name: Circle of Light.
We began setting our intention for the qualities this Circle would
embrace and express. How would we express our Godselves as we built
community? As a group, we would treat one another with Respect, Appreciation,
unconditional Love and Reverence. We would share equally in leadership
and responsibility. Priorities would be: open, honest and loving communication;
willingness to be guided by Spirit in all matters; openly giving and
receiving Love; holding ourselves, each other, and all of Creation in
Wholeness and Love. We would welcome new ideas as we shared our talents
and gifts for the highest expression of our purpose - to build, spread
and anchor a point of Light on the planet.
Holding ourselves as unique expressions of Infinite Wisdom and
One with all of Creation, we would honor ourselves as God. We received
a mantra: I AM GOD, YOU ARE GOD, WE ARE GOD. Our bodies vibrated with
the knowing of this TRUTH.
Archangel Michael visits us regularly to provide Divine guidance
and Insight. He showed us that the vision of the building exists as
a powerful image for meditation. Its purpose is to increase our ability
to build and hold the Light. "There will be many groups," he said. "All
will contribute to building a grid of Light that will eventually envelop
Mother Earth. Many angels are assisting in this effort." We learned
that connecting with these other groups will create webs of Light. Like
ripples on a pond, Light will spread into all places. We will use our
conscious intention to catalyze enLIGHTenment! Clearly Archangel Michael
is the guardian of this project and we are grateful. We called the Circle.
In her book, "Calling the Circle: The First and Future Culture,"
Christina Baldwin says, "Over and over again I hear people express their
longing to know . how to apply personal consciousness to the world in
some helpful way. I believe we can apply consciousness to heal the world
- and we already are. Great power lies within us. What has been missing
is the mechanism for organizing this power. I believe this mechanism
of empowerment and action is the circle."
Circle of Light is a group of people creating sacred space
for themselves and all of Creation. It is open to all adults. Join us
for a Spirit-filled evening (7-8:30) with a lively group of Light bearers.
We meet in the Portland area twice a month on a week night, close to
the new and full moon. We have a different host, focal point and facilitator
for each gathering. Examples of a meeting focus are "The Joy of
Spirituality," "The Festival of Goodwill," and "Celebration
of Purification." The only items we ask you to bring are an unscented
candle (with holder) and anything you wish blessed and infused with
Light. These are placed in the center of the Circle. There is a brief
ceremony of building and spreading the Light with an opportunity to
share from your heart on the focus of the meeting. We plan to have regular
potluck socials for the Soul purpose of fun and connection.
We would like to connect with other groups of Light bearers doing
similar things. We intend to begin creating the webs of Light between
our groups to strengthen the Light grid we are collectively building.
We invite you to let us know who you are. Come join one of our meetings
and/or start a circle in your neighborhood. For future meeting dates
and more information, please see the calendar
